Up Coming Event: Strange Currencies

Just wanted to share with you all an upcoming event that I was invited to do makeup for by my wondering girl Era.


It is about a refreshing dark comedy by emerging playwright Harley Hefford exploring love, infatuation, and celebrating the awkwardness and dogged determination with which we pursue someone we have absolutely no chance of getting.


As 8 Melburnians apathetically fumble through their mundane lives, their worlds are turned upside down as ...they each fall in unrequited love. In their hilarious attempts to satisfy the universal desire to ‘love and be loved’ their extreme antics start to spiral out of control, leaving a trail of anarchic mayhem through their once boring lives!

Far Cheaper than therapy, come indulge and revel in the crazy things we do for love – the one which once turned us into fumbling fools, made us do things we regret, and inevitably led to a whole lot of embarrassing situations.

Join us for a riotous night of hilarity, love, sex and stalking as 'Strange Currencies' trades in the happily ever after to bring you the final word on how not to find love.

On the 1st day of Spring,  I attended the Fashion Event called "Green is the New Black" held at the Queen Victoria Womens Centre.  

This event celebrated the growing interest in green fashion – innovative designers and Melbourne retailers are taking up the challenge to make fashion more eco-friendly and ethically sound. 

 

 

 

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions accentuate the beauty of your own lashes. The process is semi-permanent and involves the professional adhering of a synthetic lash to each individual lashes of your own, one by one. 

This process results in a beautiful, longer and thicker extension of your own lash line. Eyelash extensions look and feel so natural, that you will have everyone guessing if they are yours.

How long will Eyelash Extensions last?

Your natural eyelashes fall out and replace themselves every 60-90days. With professional application and simple care, your extension will last the life of your natural lash cycle. When your natural lashes fall out in regular intervals, the extension falls off with it. This causes gaps between the extensions. 

To keep your lashes looking full and voluminous, lash refills are recommended every
3-4weeks (to fill in the areas where new lashes are growing in).
Some clients can last up to 5-6 weeks without have a lash refill.

How is Eyelash Extension procedure done?

 Firstly, for new clients you will fill out a client card, sign a waiver release form and then be consulted what look you would like to achieve with your lashes.

Then you will recline on a comfortable treatment bed with your eyes closed. After the lower lashes are protected, each synthetic lash is applied one-by-one to your natural individual lashes.

This process takes approximately 1-3 hours, depending upon the amount of lashes extensions applied. The procedure is painless and very relaxing. Most client drift off to sleep

What are the benefits of Eyelash Extensions?

 - No need to wear mascara or tint your eyelashes

Can I still wear makeup on my eyes?

Of course you can! Most women feel they don't need to wear mascara or eyeliner after having eyelash extensions applied. 

However, if you must wear mascara, only -water-based based is recommended, as it is easily removed with water and is safe for your extensions. Avoid wateproof mascara and oil-based eye makeup remover on your lash extensions, to ensure a long-lasting result. 

I can provide you with appropriate mascara and makeup remover if you are unsure.

When do I need to come back for a Lash Refill?

Due to the normal shedding of your natural eyelashes, it is recommended that you have a Lash Refill every 3-4 weeks to maintain the fullness and replenish any fallen lashes. 

However if properly cared for, some clients can last up to 5-6 weeks before coming back for a Lash Refill.

Will Eyelash Extension prevent me from my normal activities?

You can enjoy your eyelash extension without any need to alter your lifestyle. After you have allowed 24-36 hours after your application, you may shower, swim, exercise and spa, worry free.

How do I care for my Lashes?

-Do not wet your eyelashes for 24-36 hours after your lash application.
-Never wear Waterproof Mascara. Only use water-based mascara. Frequent use of mascara may shorten the life span of your lashes.
- Refill your lashes every 3-4 weeks. (optional)
- Be gentle- avoid rubbing your eyes and take care removing clothing.
-Avoid oil-based makeup removers
- Avoid the use of oil-based eye creams on the lash line.
-Minimize the use of saunas and steam rooms.

How do I remove my Eyelash Extensions?

For whatever reason you wish to remove your extensions, there are two ways to remove the lashes:
1) Make an appointment with me and I will removed them with a specially formulated glue removed gel. It is an absolutely painless and very quick procedure.

2) You may choose to leave them on, allowing for the normal shedding of your natural lashes.

What is a Glue Allergy?

Vary rarely are clients allergic to Eyelash Extension adhesives.
About 1 on 100 people are not suited to eyelash extensions.

Glue allergy symptom normally present themselves within the FIRST 48HOURS.

A glue allergy will usually have the following symptoms:
-Swollen and red eyelids
-watery eyes
- Blood shot and red eyes
- Painful burning sensation
- Scabbing under the eyebrow area (rare)

I will explain the allergy symptoms during your consultation.

YOU MUST CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY if your lashes are causing you any problem or discomfort. I will provide you my after-hour contact number, should an allergy occur.

As an Eyelash Stylist, it is my care of duty to De-bond/remove your eyelash extension immediately within the FIRST 48 HOURS, free of charge should an allergy occur.

It is important to understand that any self-removal method of your eyelash extensions (by another lash stylist or Doctor). may result in excessive lash breakage and temporary damage. 

If you need to seek medical attention after I have removed your eyelash extension, you must do so and at your own expense.

If you have an allergy to eyelash extension adhesives you will always react the same way, regardless of which adhesive is used.

Usually clients that are allergic to Acrylic Nails will also be allergic to Eyelash Extensions adhesives.

If you have never had eyelash extensions before, never have a full-set 24 hours before a special event. It is ideal that you have your first full-set applied 3-4 weeks prior and a Lash Refill just before the special occasion

What to consider when making and arriving to your appointment?

Please do not wear any eye make-up when arriving to your appointment, if so, it will result in eye make-up removal preparation which will go into your treatment time. 

-If you wear contact lenses I request that you wear your glasses on the day. If you only wear contact lenses please bring your saline solution and contact lenses case and remove them just before application.

-Please do not apply any eye-cream prior to your appointment.

-Ensure to leave maximum time allowance to ensure your eyelash extensions are completed to your desired outcome.

-For new clients please arrive 15minutes earlier prior your appointment time so we can go through consultation, client card details and waiver release forms.
